What are the applications of thick thermoforming?
Thick thermoforming refers to the processing of raw materials with a thickness exceeding 2 mm, which cannot be molded on fully automatic machines. Instead, it is produced using semi‑automatic blister‑forming machines specially designed for thick sheets. Generally, thick thermoforming uses plastic as the primary material, supplemented by molds, to manufacture blister packaging in a wide variety of shapes and configurations. Plastic materials suitable for thick‑sheet thermoforming include PVC, acrylic, ABS, PC, PP, light‑transmitting sheets, daylight panels, polycarbonate sheets, PE, and others. The thick‑film blister products manufactured via this process are primarily used in the automotive industry for interior components and electrical applications.
